Job Description:

  • Working without assistance on medium and large sized accounts.
  • Acquire a detailed knowledge of market and Marsh broadform wordings
  • Draft and issue policy wordings with assistance for example Assets and Liability.
  • Draft standard policy wordings in respect of all other classes without assistance.
  • Check insurer wordings for correctness.
  • Prepare endorsements without assistance.
  • Draft closing instructions without assistance.
  • Check slips and policy documentation from local and overseas markets.
  • Identify and collate all underwriting information relative to clients’ needs.
  • Assist with the production of renewal information questionnaires.
  • Prepare all broking notes for local and overseas markets on medium sized portfolios with no assistance.
  • Lead renewal meetings with the local market for placements / risks.
  • Full broking on placements / risks.
  • Broking on complex placements / risks with assistance.
  • Draft correspondence / argument with no assistance.
  • Attend to Invoicing in a timeous manner.
  • Compile premium calculations with no assistance.
  • Attend training when requested.
  • Participate in the renewal meeting with the client when requested by Client Executive.
  • Actively participate in local placement / internal strategy meetings and general team support on Commercial Practice clients.
  • Ensure compliance with Acts / Regulations relating to insurance. Ensuring E & O exposures are avoided.
  • Competently handle in house invoicing, maintenance and filing of risks electronically, hard copy filing and archiving.
  • Ensure compliance with SASRIA regulations and procedures.
  • Provide assistance to Client Executives and claims staff.
  • Compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years appropriate experience in insurance and client service delivery function.
  • Matric or Equivalent.
  • FAIS Compliant
  • Regulatory Exam Certificate and required credits based on Date of First Appointment with the FSB.
  • Obtained or progressing towards ACII qualification.
  • Experienced with Riscs and Eurosys systems.
  • Strong admin skills with a solid working knowledge of IT platforms such as MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to identify suitable insurance markets for specific risks.
  • Basic knowledge of risk financing techniques
  • Understanding of E & O exposures.
  • Conversant with coverage provided by all relevant classes of insurance. General knowledge of specialist classes of insurance e.g. contract works, marine, aviation.
  • Relationships with relevant insurance markets.
