Job Description:

  • Manage 10 independent accounts / sets of books
  • Consolidate all accounts onto one income statement, submitting financials by the 20th of each month
  • Consolidate year-to date Financials
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Monthly petty cash reconciliation
  • Finalize and interpret accounts
  • Interpret and draft financial statements
  • Bank statements reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of intercompany and branch loan accounts
  • HD debt collection, month end recons for debtors
  • Maintain financial records and prepare general & special ledger accounts
  • Report of differences on a monthly basis
  • Creditors reconciliations& submissions of payments
  • Capture cashbook
  • Payroll transactions
  • Calculate and record VAT
  • Management of SARS efiling, PAYE, SDL, UIF, IT3U (+annual submission)
  • Management of COIDA annual submission
  • Management of VIP
  • Keeping up to date with all legislative changes that impact on department (including labour)
  • Prepare of financial yearend
  • Stock reporting
  • Preparation & submission of ISA documentation
  • Assist with budgets
  • HD petty cash
  • Prepare and attend meetings
  • Identify, monitor & rectify non-conformances of affecting the operations of the accounts department
  • Manage cash flow in department with colleagues daily
  • Reporting Staff / Departmental Assistants
  • Recruitment, induction, training & reviewing of new departmental staff
  • Ensure departmental staff are  trained, identify training needs & provide on-going training
  • Supervise the activities of departmental assistants’ daily, weekly + monthly departmental functions
  • Set-up & manage departmental staff meetings & workshops
  • Manage departmental deadlines
  • Maintain department staff morale and motivation
  • Ensure that departmental staff leave does not impact on company operations
  • Ensure effective communication throughout on areas specific to department
  • Manage supplier queries and complaints
  • Manage store queries & complains
  • Ensure departmental filing & archiving is done
  • Updating of accounts manual’s and Accounts Systems, monthly
  • Creating & managing training documentation &training schedule signoff documentation

Qualifications:

  • Min. 5 years’ experience in account /financial department
  • Experience in Pastel 9 or higher essential
  • Diploma / Certificate / National Diploma or BCom Accounting
  • Matric + tertiary education
  • Excellent MS Excel & Word Skills
  • Experience in retail Office Software or POS Systems advantageous
