Job Description:

  • The purpose of this job is to take responsibility for all sales activities within accounts, from generating new leads to closure of sales. This includes the implementation of the company’s Marketing Plan and business goals as well as the facilitation between the design, manufacturing and delivering teams to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue growth. 
  • Identify prospective customers and follow leads in order to achieve set sales targets
  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts
  • Finalize costings, quotations and orders for manufacturing
  • Manage customer expectations through quality checks and other follow-up during manufacturing
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback to customers to retain and grow assigned accounts
  • Reporting


  • Senior certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Qualification/ Training in or Sound Knowledge of Textiles/ clothing manufacturing (can demonstrate product knowledge/ technical data)
  • Diploma in Clothing Production/ Fashion Design or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Qualification or Training in Marketing and Sales (clearly demonstrate technical selling skills)
  • Numerical and literacy skills on NQF4 or equivalent level (for pricing and proposal models)
  • Previous experience within the clothing industry a strong advantage
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a sales rep with a proven record of successful target achievement
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport and a willingness to travel
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners, senior management and decision makers
  • Able to sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects/ clients within the various product ranges the company has to offer
  • Able to prepare and present proposals – accurately and professionally
  • Problem solving skills (able to advise clients and overcome challenges between design, manufacturing and customer expectations)
  • Able to work in a changing and fast paced environment
