Job Description:

  • Perform testing procedures on the customer-facing and internal software products and ensure all errors are identified and corrected before release to clients
  • Interact with development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
  • System Testing of new applications and existing software enhancements to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Functionality Testing of new applications and existing software enhancements to ensure they meet business requirements through performing end to end business scenario tests
  • Regression Testing of new applications and existing software enhancements to identify any possible impacts caused by changes.
  • Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using Web Support;
  • Maintenance and management of manual and automated scripts & test databases
  • Verification and evidence of reproduction of any reported faults in existing clients software.
  • Testing of fixes required for reported faults, including tests for possible impacts from changes.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards RCA and resolution;
  • Validate test methods
  • Documenting new development.
  • Ensure all aspects of work meet customer expectations and company quality standards
  • Creating documentation (Release Notes) of new, changed and improved development
  • Responsible for publishing Release Notes and documentation
  • Responsible for creating monthly release reports containing all new development and features built into our system.
  • Responsible for ensuring that development specifications and final product meet the requirements of the client
  • Accurate daily completion of timesheets
  • Take the responsibility that thorough software product knowledge exists to assist client
  • Take responsibility to ensure that all tasks are executed in terms of schedule for duties
  • Take responsibility to telephonically support clients
  • Take responsibility to assist clients on the Support Log
  • Take responsibility for correct channeling of problems to the appropriate resource w.r.t. problems logged on the Support Log as well as telephone enquiries
  • Take responsibility to complete the company’s Support log and Worktime according to the company’s prescribed procedures and standards i.e. type of problem and duration to rectify, etc.
  • Take responsibility to prioritise tasks in terms of urgency and importance
  • Take responsibility that all Log enquiries/requests are followed up, ensure that client’s needs are met and quality of service delivery
  • Take responsibility for on-going relationship building with client after services were rendered
  • Take responsibility for the timely communication to Account Manager w.r.t. any risks and issues which may developed
  • Take responsibility for all performance related tasks as required by the Board of Directors
  • Take responsibility for the ongoing reporting of any irregularities to the Board of Directors
  • Comply with new company HR Policies and Procedures & Code of Ethics
  • Take responsibility to immediately report any jobs that fall out of the employee’s frame of expertise
  • When visiting a client, install confidence in client that high levels of service will be conducted at all times

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Appropriate 3-year IT qualification and/or business qualification
  • Proven ability in structured testing
  • Knowledge of structured software testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools
  • Strong technology inclination
  • Aptitude for computers
  • Intensive troubleshooting knowledge
  • Ability and willingness to take ownership of personal career growth and direction, including long term job crafting.
