Job Description:

  • Support the Manufacturing Director in the development, implementation, roll-out, monitoring and driving manufacturing target achievement.
  • Responsible for planning, creating, implementing and controlling production schedules.
  • Responsible for production planning based on the schedules, production control and reporting.
  • Ensure that production reports (daily, weekly, monthly including Directors reports) are prepared and maintained on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for developing the manufacturing engineering team targets to support the running of production, interface with the quality and process team engineers and to be the primary engineering interface with the Engineering Division with respect to future model development, running change implementation and Life Cycle change.
  • Responsible to develop the quality engineering team targets to support and improve the running production quality, interface with the engineering and process teams and act as primary interface to company quality to support QMS, Quality systems, quality processes, product quality development & standards, roll-out and maintenance.
  • Responsible for the process engineering team performance in the three key areas of productivity improvement, continuous improvement and process audit. Develop and support the implementation of cost control programs and measures.
  • Support achievement of production targets in line with the Company’s strategy and targets through the cross functional support or the factories and steering of the key areas of manufacturing- engineering, -quality, -process and -production control.
  • Determine and manage support resources to meet manufacturing overall targets.
  • Develop and implement a robust strategy to determine the best way to implement accurate and useable activity lists.
  • Support the adherence to standard operating procedures and production processes (including activity lists, workstation boards, etc.)
  • Manage policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures. Driver for the implementation of best operating practices to be implemented and continuous improvement embedded within the factories (RoCOS* System Development).
  • Responsible for development of a manufacturing risk management system and reporting thereof on a quarterly basis in the manufacturing circle.
  • Facilitate change, driving change and achieving sustainable results.
  • Ensure savings targets are achieved by evaluating gaps and identifying solutions.
  • Assure subordinate managers complete individual goals and objectives and complete annual performance appraisals.
  • Support the drive to achieve a cultural shift in manufacturing focused on breakthrough improvements to move the organisation to the next level of operational excellence.
  • Overall responsibility for the planning and monitoring of the manufacturing budget.
  • Assume responsibility as GMR2 Appointee.
  • Chair EHS steering committee meetings.
  • Support the development of a manufacturing maintenance strategy.
  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to expedite improvements and improved internal and external working relationships.
  • Support the implementation of a continuous improvement in OHS, driving a safety conscious culture that ensures compliance with all required OHS, and other required standards and an efficient, safe place to work for employees.


  • Required Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or a related field.
  • Required 5 - 8 years related Managerial experience. Proven performance in at least one or a combination of the fields of engineering, quality and manufacturing.
  • Preferred Certified Six Sigma Engineer/Professional and Lean Knowledge.
  • Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Significant experience in Lean Manufacturing waste reduction techniques (5-S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban).
